Based on the directives of the Women’s Affairs Department at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and coinciding with the campaign launched by the Ministry to combat harassment, which was launched on 1/14/2024 and under the slogan (Together to create an environment that rejects the phenomenon of harassment), the Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Pharmacy held an educational symposium entitled (Harassment). Between the hammer of the law and the anvil of society) on Wednesday, 1/17/2024, at ten in the morning at Jaber bin Hayyan Hall, in which everyone was present.

It shed light on the concept of harassment and its types, as well as its causes (related to the harasser, and reasons related to society), and also touched on the position of Iraqi legislation on such crimes.
In conclusion, the lecturers recommended that in order to reduce the chances of falling victim to harassment crimes, the family must be keen to form a positive relationship between their children characterized by love and consultation, far from situations of homelessness and cruelty, and it is necessary for their children to monitor what they see in the media, especially those that help in deviation from films, series, etc. Tightening the penalty for harassment that holds harassers accountable. In addition to working to raise the cultural and economic level of Iraqis through media and cultural institutions and combating the phenomenon of poverty and unemployment.
