The Department of Laboratory and Clinical Sciences organized a scientific symposium on a newly designed health strategy aimed at finally eliminating a dangerous genetic disease that causes premature death and early cardiovascular diseases. The symposium speaker, Asst.Lect . Moataz Rahman Awda, a specialist in cardiovascular diseases and a lecturer in the department, gave a detailed explanation of this strategy that he designed for the first time in the world, aiming to finally eliminate the disease of hereditary hypercholesterolemia, which causes great health, psychological, economic and social consequences and poses a major threat to generations. The spokesman also pointed out that this health strategy was praised by leading experts in the field worldwide in a letter sent from the headquarters of the World Heart Federation in Geneva to the Iraqi Minister of Health in 2021. These health strategies constitute pioneering ideas that contribute to a qualitative development in the medical services provided to patients in Iraq.
