The lecturer in our college, M.M. Moataz Al-Sabah, specialist in cardiovascular diseases, head of the Iraqi blood lipid clinic network, participated with a delegation from the American Family Heart Foundation on a visit to the US Congress building in Washington, DC, after receiving an official invitation from the presidency of the foundation to accompany them on that visit, which took place. On September 7, after the end of the Family Heart Summit there, which he attended as a speaker at the official invitation of the Foundation
During the visit, a committee from the US Congress, representing the Democratic and Republican parties, was met to convey the summit’s recommendations to members of Congress in order to contribute to issuing the necessary legislation and financial allocations to implement those recommendations.
Al-Sabah expressed his great happiness at going through this experience, in which he learned about the extent of coordination between American civil society organizations and the legislative authority in the United States, represented by the US Congress, in order to provide a healthy life for the American citizen.
