\nthe College of Pharmacy held a scientific workshop entitled “Determining the Purity of Hydrogen Peroxide Using Redox Reactions in Pharmaceutical Chemistry”

\nThe workshop aimed to examine how to determine the purity of hydrogen peroxide (H\u2082O\u2082) using titration methods based on redox reactions. The focus will be on the reaction with potassium permanganate (KMnO\u2084) as an oxidant in an acidic medium, which is one of the most accurate methods in pharmaceutical chemistry.
\nThe workshop included two main topics:
\n1. The importance of hydrogen peroxide in pharmaceutical and industrial applications.
\n2. The principle of redox reactions.
\nAfter performing several repeated titrations, the volume of KMnO\u2084 solution used is calculated, and the necessary calculations are applied to determine the concentration of H\u2082O\u2082 in the sample. The calculated concentration is compared with the concentration declared by the manufacturer, enabling verification of its quality and purity. It is also recommended to compare the results with pharmaceutical quality standards to determine the extent to which the sample conforms to specifications<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
