Prof. Dr. Hussein Ali Sahib as a member and supervisor in the Master’s thesis discussion committee at the College of Medicine, Al-Qadisiyah University, which discussed the concept of the IL33/St2 axis in type 2 diabetes
The Clinical Medicine Department at the College of Medicine, Al-Qadisiyah University, discussed a master’s thesis entitled (Type 2 Diabetes: The Concept of the IL33/St2 Axis) for the student Dhura Hussein Abdullah.
The thesis aimed to explore the potential relationship between IL-33 and sST2 in patients with type 2 DM and the potential effect of metformin on this association the most important recommendations: Registering a large sample size and conducting a national multicenter study may help validate the results of the current study on larger scales. Also, assessing the association between polymorphisms in genes in the IL-33 and sT2 receptors with the levels of the corresponding serum proteins may help clarify the exact mechanism of their contribution to the overall inflammatory state
