حلقة نقاشية في كلية الصيدلة جامعة القادسية بعنوان

Under the patronage of the respected President of Al-Qadisiyah University, Professor Dr. Kazim Jabr Al-Jubouri, and under the supervision of the respected Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Assistant Professor Dr. Asaad Hassan Al-Zaidi,

The College of Pharmacy held a seminar entitled

Metabolomics Insight into cellular metabolism and its implications for health and disease.
Prof. Dr. Zainab Adnan lectured in it
Metabolomics is a broad study of metabolites, which are small molecules produced in the body during metabolism. Metabolomics is used for various purposes in scientific research, clinical applications, and precision medicine. Here are some of the main uses of metabolomics:
Diagnosis of diseases and discovery of biomarkers:
Metabolomics helps identify unique metabolic signatures (biomarkers) associated with specific diseases such as cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and neurological disorders. These biomarkers can help in early diagnosis and disease monitoring.
Understanding metabolic pathways:
Metabolomics provides insights into how different biochemical pathways change in health and disease, allowing scientists to understand underlying mechanisms and identify potential therapeutic targets.
Precision medicine: By analyzing the metabolic status of individuals, metabolomics enables the development of personalized therapeutic approaches. It helps tailor treatments based on individual metabolic profiles, improving the effectiveness of treatments.
Drug development: Metabolomics is used to identify new drug targets, evaluate drug efficacy, and understand the metabolic effects of drugs. It can also help predict adverse drug reactions by analyzing how a drug affects metabolic processes.
Nutritional and nutritional studies: It can analyze the impact of diet on metabolism and health, helping to develop personalized nutrition strategies to improve health outcomes. Environmental and toxicological studies: Metabolomics can assess the impact of environmental toxins and pollutants on metabolic health, helping to study environmental toxicology and health.
Metabolomics is therefore a powerful tool for advancing medical research, improving diagnostics, developing therapeutics, and supporting personalized healthcare strategies.
