The workshop shed light on the concept of electronic blackmail and its causes, and the criminal confrontation of this crime by explaining its elements and punishment. The workshop recommended the necessity of securing the electronic device, whether it is a computer or a smart device. Do not use untrusted applications and links; Avoid posting important or personal data and information on social media; Avoid sharing any explicit photos or videos on social media so that they are not easily used as an excuse for blackmail. Change passwords regularly, do not use the same passwords for different accounts or basic systems, and choose strong passwords for the account on social media sites so that they are not the user’s name, date of birth, or numbers (1, 2, 3…) in a row, and finally verify Security and privacy settings on all user accounts for social media and email.
